In the week that Micha Wertheim premieres his new show Nergens Anders at Frascati, he also presents a specially curated program. A true festival with a selection of performances and activities that, according to him, absolutely deserve your attention. As a big fan of Charlie Kaufman, this audio play is a must-have in the program.

Micha about Hope Leaves the Theater:

“Of course I wanted to bring my hero Charlie Kaufman to Amsterdam. But yeah, it’s not as easy as all that. Luckily, he once wrote an audio play meant to be listened to in a theatre. A mix of film and theatre.

So that’s what we’re going to do.

In fact, there’s a bit in Nergens Anders that’s very similar. Although that actually popped into my head in a very different way. But then, who knows exactly how our heads work?”
