boycow, or The Minotaur, or 10 Acts (1-5), or Bullshit, is a thought-form, a choreography, an incantation, a litany,  a word-labyrinth constructed of social contracts, coconut oil, confetti, Greek mythology, and playing the role of herself, as herself, The THEATER.

A solo, performed simultaneously by two bodies in separate spaces.

The audience members are invited to move between the rooms, leaving one performer, coming to the other performer, coming to the other audiences.  This framing provokes notions of FOMO, comparison and yearning while engaging you as active bodies who’s presence and viewing co-creates and co-composes your personal versions of the performance.

The performers slide between social interaction and high theatricality while performing a poetic monologue and executing idiosyncratic choreographies. The effect unsettles between a hang out gone sideways, THEATRE, and contemporary dance with design elements referencing underground nightlife, contemporary queer semiotics and Drag Affect. The composition of the performance comes from research into the myth of the Minotaur and labyrinth.

We could say “queering the myth of the Minotaur.”
We could say “a choreography of language according to labyrinthian logics.”
We will say “Wait, just wait. Please Stay.”

Public installation

You are invited from 7:45 PM onwards to watch in Frascati 2 and Frascati 3 as the solo performers, dressed in costume, create a labyrinth of confetti on the floor. This is one of the Acts referenced in the title, and while it is not required for the whole audience to attend or witness this Act, simply knowing that they could view it invokes one of the themes of this work, audience members individual choice and desires.

About Cornelius

Cornelius O (FKA Mica Sigourney) graduated from DAS Choreogrpahy in 2024, and was in danceWEB in 2013. Cornelius is a conceptual artist working in poetics, choreography, image and objects. Their work trembles between genres and is densely implicitly queer (…stop asking), political (…stop asking), and moves toward queer liberatory futures (…stop asking!). They started walking on stage on purpose at age 5, and by accident ever since.

Cornelius founded OX, a performance group and production company, in 2013. OX presents works from the Queer underground, bringing high theory to low art and vice versa.
