Frascati International presenteert Cornelius’ boycow
Frascati International presents the Dutch premiere of Cornelius’ boycow, or The Minotaur, or 10 Acts (1–5), or Bullshit
Frascati International welcomes the multidisciplinary performance boycow, or The Minotaur, or 10 Acts (1–5), or Bullshit by Cornelius (US, IE), in co-production with Frascati Producties. Following earlier performances in San Francisco, the Dutch premiere will take place on Thursday 9 May at Frascati.
In this solo, performed simultaneously by two performers in separate spaces, the audience is invited to make constant choices — between performer Cornelius or performer Gabriele, between Frascati 2 or Frascati 3, between one audience or the other. The performance places the visitor at its centre. Not as a passive observer, but as an active participant, shaping a personal version of the piece through each decision. Every choice excludes another experience, sharpening themes of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), desire and comparison.
The performance is a theatrical blend of contemporary dance, poetic monologue, and an unhinged hang-out. Steeped in the myth of the Minotaur and the labyrinth, its visual and choreographic elements draw inspiration from queer nightlife, Drag Affect, and underground aesthetics.
Cornelius, formerly known as Mica Sigourney, graduated from DAS Choreography in 2024. Their conceptual work moves between poetry, image, dance, and performance. With their collective OX, Cornelius brings work from the queer underground to the stage — delivering sharp ideas with space for confusion, humour, and vulnerability.
