Following the success of Don’t rain on my paREET, Kim Karssen hits the Parade stage again with her new show OC/DC. An absurdist hardcore comedy about fear and downward spirals of frantic thoughts that consume you. OC/DC is a 30-minute ride of total discomfort and hilarity, from which you’ll walk out in a cold sweat of fear and ecstasy.

Provided Kim doesn’t have a mental breakdown before that time. In which case John de Mol will buy the intellectual property rights in order to premiere his own standup debut. But not before he calls a ban on humor to eliminate the competition, of course. However, if all that were to happen, Kim isn’t coming to watch. Because there would be nothing to laugh about.

About Kim Karssen

Theater maker and actress Kim Karssen (1996) obtained a degree in Performance from the Toneelacademie Maastricht in 2018. Driven by a passion for language and storytelling, her shows are an imaginative quest for a balance between laughter and tears. She’s not afraid of the dark and always keen to go completely off the rails.

From the 2022/2023 season, Kim has been working under the umbrella of Frascati Producties. During this time, she has produced We’re all alone in this together (2024) with co-actor Elias de Bruyne and the absurdist solo Schrödingers hond (2022). She also created the standup show Don’t rain on my paREET for theater festival De Parade in 2023. In the same year, she was awarded the Wim Bary Stipendium, a Dutch oeuvre prize for theater makers under 35.

Kim’s work has been shown at Frascati Producties before, in collaborations with Florian Myjer in Oorlog en Vrede (2019), Mephisto Park (2020) and Mann Mann Mann (2022, De Warme Winkel / Frascati Producties, 2022), amongst others.
