Home Entertainment, a two evening programme presenting makers working outside of their motherlands, exploring the notion that some stories cannot be told at home. Whether its censorship, political unrest, self censorship or formal reasons, Home Entertainment will share works that are nourished by the distance between and in fact need this distance for communication to be possible.
With works by Nassim Soleimanpour (Iran), Noah Voelker (United States), Rodrigo Batista (Brazil) and Vita Evangelista each coming from a vastly different context with unique concerns and drivers for their work. Urgency, reflection and a strong desire to communicate resonates across each of the pieces.
Shared over two evenings in an immediate and intimate style based upon the works presented this year at Veronica, a performance program run out of the living room of curator Isobel Dryburgh.
